Presentation of the Golden Bow Award to Alexandre Dubach

For over 25 years, the Swiss School of Violin Making Foundation has presented the GOLDEN BOW – an honor for individuals or ensembles who have made an exceptional contribution to the culture of string instruments. This year, the award was presented to the Thun-based violinist Alexandre Dubach.

Dubach was recognized as an exceptional talent early on: he won national competitions as a child and, at 16, made his debut with Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, where he soon held a leading position. He was shaped by teachers including Nathan Milstein and Yehudi Menuhin. A career as a soloist followed, in which he distinguished himself through great virtuosity, tonal expressiveness, and a unique artistic personality. By presenting the GOLDEN BOW, the Swiss School of Violin Making Foundation honors his long-standing artistic work and his passionate commitment to music.

The award ceremony took place during the opening concert of the Meiringen Music Festival Week on July 3, 2026.
