Biographies:
Born in St. Petersburg in 1994, violinist Leonid Baranov studied in Russia, the USA, and Switzerland under renowned figures such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Vadim Gluzman, and Ilya Gringolts. He has been performing internationally as a soloist since the age of 15, appearing in major venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Tonhalle Zurich, and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
He has collaborated with notable orchestras and conductors and was awarded the Rahn Music Prize in 2022. Since the 2024/25 season, he has served as principal second violin of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
Pianist Alla Belova was born in St. Petersburg and studied at the Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatories. She is currently continuing her studies with Benjamin Moser at the Lucerne School of Music. Her concert appearances have taken her to prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the KKL Lucerne, and the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.
A sought-after chamber musician and song accompanist, she performs at international festivals and has received awards at numerous competitions. In 2023, she collaborated with the Swiss label Claves Records.
The Cellist Milena Umiglia-Marena comes from a musical family and received her training in Basel and Zurich under Rafael Rosenfeld and Thomas Grossenbacher. She has won numerous national and international awards, including at the Murten Classics Cello Competition, the Kiwanis Competition in Zurich, and several international competitions in Vienna and Padua.
As a soloist and chamber musician, she performs across Europe and South America with orchestras such as the Argovia Philharmonic and the Collegium Musicum Zug. Today, she is the principal cellist of the Musikkollegium Winterthur and plays an Alessandro Gagliano cello from 1715.
