Biographies:

Yuka Oechslin – Piano

Yuka Oechslin grew up in a musical family and studied piano in Basel with Jean-Jacques Dünki and Filippo Gamba. He completed his Master’s in Chamber Music with distinction under Anton Kernjak. As a member of the Medea Trio, he has won several international awards. He is deeply dedicated to contemporary music and served as an academy répétiteur at the Zurich Opera House.

Erika Schutter – Violin, Curator of Dachkammerkonzerte

Erika Schutter studied violin with Thomas Füri and Sebastian Hamann, graduating with a soloist diploma in 2012. As a member of the Medea Trio, she has won multiple competitions and performed internationally. She has been a member of the Festival Strings Lucerne since 2014 and principal second violin since 2022. She also performs as a guest musician with various orchestras and teaches at the Swiss School of Violin Making in Brienz.

Sylvia Zucker – Viola

Sylvia Zucker studied violin and viola in Lübeck, Zurich, and Lucerne, graduating with a concert diploma with distinction. Further chamber music studies led her to work with the Hagen Quartet, among others. In 2003, she founded the Gémeaux Quartett, with which she performs internationally. She has been a permanent member of the Festival Strings Lucerne for several years.

Mirjana Reinhard – Cello

Mirjana Reinhard was born in Bern and studied cello in Basel and at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) with Thomas Grossenbacher, where she earned her concert and soloist diplomas. She has performed as a soloist with various orchestras and is a passionate chamber musician. As a long-standing member of the Medea Trio, she has performed internationally, with a particular focus on contemporary music.
