Birgit Steinfels

Birgit Steinfels is a qualified orchestral musician and cultural manager. After graduating from high school in Freiburg im Breisgau, she studied at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and the Basel Music Academy. She later completed training as a cultural manager, earning an MAS in Music Management from the Bern University of the Arts. Her professional career has included positions at the Staatstheater Mainz, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Musikfestival Bern, Les Passions de l'Ame in Bern, the Burgergemeinde Bern, and the Berner Generationenhaus. She has been Co-Principal of the Swiss Violin Making School since February 2019.
