Information and registration for the entrance exam

If you are interested in training at the Swiss School of Violin Making, we recommend that you visit us beforehand. For example, during our information sessions, which take place every autumn. It is also possible to shadow us at the school (for a maximum of half a day). Unfortunately, we cannot offer trial apprenticeships.
The entrance examination
The entrance examination at the violin making school spans two to three days. We get to know each other in the workshop, where applicants are given simple tasks in woodworking as well as drawing and design. Basic knowledge of instrumental practice, aural skills, and music theory is also tested.
